What does a modified modem do? – It allows for the user to see additional information regarding their network connection such as detailed signal information and logs.
Can I obtain free or faster Internet? – These modified modems are sold solely as diagnostic & test tools. They are not configured to provide free internet (commonly referred to as Plug and Play).
BitWare, forceWare, and Haxorware: What's the difference? – They are custom firmwares. Haxorware was written for the DOCSIS 2.0 Motorola SB5101 cable modem, forceWare was originally written for the DOCSIS 3.0 SB61XX line of modems from Motorola (Arris), and BitWare was written for Puma6 modems such as the Arris SB6190. They are not interchangeable.
What's included with my item? – We include small, pro-grade power adapters with every item. We also include links to detailed technical PDFs, online forums, guides, and a repository for the full firmware revisions.
DOCSIS 2.0 and 3.0: What's the difference? – DOCSIS 2.0 only supports a single Downstream and Upstream channel, typical up to 38Mbps in speed. DOCSIS 3.0 is a newer standard that supports multiple channels for DS/US, such as the Motorola SB6141 with 8x4 DS/US channels at up to 343 / 172 Mbps or the Arris SB6190 with 32x8 at up to 1400 / 240 Mbps.
Do you offer returns? – No, we do not offer returns on our items.
